Super Bowl 2026: NFL have no plans for ICE immigration enforcement despite Donald Trump comments

The NFL have no plans for ICE immigration enforcement at this Sunday's Super Bowl.

Two people were killed in the United States last month by ICE agents since President Donald Trump commenced what he's called the "largest immigration enforcement operation ever" in Minnesota.

have reported security ahead of Sunday's game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots will be consistent with past Super Bowls.

Homeland Security is understood to be responsible for helping coordinate several federal agencies that are handling security at the event.

"Security is obviously one of the things we focus on the most," said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell when asked about the possibility of ICE being on the ground.

"It's a SEAR-1 level event that involves unique assets at the federal level, state level and the local level, all working together. I see no change in that.

"We're working with all three of those levels and doing everything we can to make sure it's a safe environment. And the federal government is a big part of that, including this administration and every other administration before that."

A small crowd of fewer than 100 people staged a protest over ICE's actions at NFL's Opening Night event in San Jose on Monday.

Rapper Bad Bunny will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, one week on from his "ICE out" comments at the Grammy Awards last Sunday.

In October, President Trump called the NFL's choice of Bad Bunny to headline its halftime show "absolutely ridiculous."

Goodell said: "Bad Bunny is, and I think that was demonstrated last night, one of the great artists in the world and that's one of the reasons we chose him.

"But the other reason is he understood the platform he was on and that this platform is to use to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity, with their talents, and to be able to use this moment to do that.

"I think artists in the past have done that. I think Bad Bunny understands that, and I think he'll have a great performance."

Watch the New England Patriots against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California this Sunday, with coverage under way at 10pm live on Sky Spots NFL ahead of kick-off at approximately 11.30pm. or .
