Oscar Bobb transfer news: Fulham complete £27m signing of Man City forward

Fulham have confirmed the signing of Oscar Bobb in a £27m deal from Manchester City.

The agreement contains a 20 per cent sell-on clause and City also have matching rights should Fulham sell Bobb, who has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal at Craven Cottage, on to another club.

Speaking to FFCtv, the 22-year-old said: "It feels great to be here. I had a great day meeting everyone and I'm very excited.

"I've always known Fulham to be a good club, with good players and a great stadium. I spoke to Sander, my good friend, and I spoke to the Manager, and he explained what the system's like, and how the lads are, and how the club is.

"He seemed lovely, so it was an easy decision basically."

Discussing Bobb's signing in his press conference ahead of this weekend's trip to Manchester United, live on Your Site, boss Marco Silva said: "I am very pleased, definitely, because I think it's a very, very good move from ourselves.

"Now it is a matter of us to work with him, to put him in the best physical condition he can be, because I am sure that (he) is going to be a very good signing for the football club.

"If you are going to spend the money we did in a player like Oscar - a young player like him that is going to help us until the end of the season and for the future - of course we have to put it in a long-term project for him.

"He has had some moments in some games in a Man City shirt, but for the national team, he is already a starting level player and is going to be in the World Cup.

"He is a player that we truly believe was a great move from ourselves and he will of course show his quality, but at the same time we have to freshen things (up) a little bit."

Several teams in the Bundesliga and Premier League were interested in signing Bobb, but the club have now secured crucial reinforcements for Marco Silva out wide, following the departure of to West Ham.

Harry Wilson, who leads the team in goals scored and assists, is also increasingly likely to leave on a free transfer in the summer.

Vice chairman and director of football operations Tony Khan added: "I'm thrilled to welcome Oscar Bobb to Fulham! He is an exciting young player who is eager to come and play for the club, as we aim to continue the team's positive momentum through the second half of the season and plan for a promising future!"

Bobb joined City as a youngster from Valarenga in 2019 and broke into the first-team squad in 2023-24. However, he missed all of last season with a broken leg suffered in pre-season.

Bobb has made 15 appearances for City this term, while also helping Norway qualify for the World Cup.

He has not played since starting City's Carabao Cup match against Brentford on December 17, where he was forced off with an injury inside 20 minutes.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, City's assistant manager Pep Lijnders wished the winger well, saying: "With his age, to make a transfer like that, with that amount of money, into the Premier League, I'm really happy for him.

"I think it's a great step to go to Marco Silva's team. The way they set up and play, with the outside triangles being flexible, it will fit him a lot.

"I'm really happy for him and it's a big compliment for our academy, another player making a big step, who has quality to play in the Premier League."
